Thatched Hut Pinot Noir 2010, Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand: Vintages Wine Panel: A terrific Pinot and wonderful value for a wine from Central Otago, arguably New Zealand’s best place to grow Pinot Noir. Medium ruby colour. Aromas are clearly Otago Pinot: sour cherry, pomegranate, wet earth, plum, plus a hint of prune. Dry, flavourful and fruity with resolving tannins and pleasant acidity. The texture is quite silky. Ready to drink. My note: Zingy cherry aromas with a lovely softness and satin texture on the palate. Medium-bodied with a gentleness you want to wrap around you like a comforting shawl. Good night. Drink: 2011-2015. 242933 13.50% XD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 90/100. July 23, 2011 Full Review
