The Pepper Pot is an unusual blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Tannat created by David Finlayson, one of South Africa's renowned wine makers and formerly wine maker of the Hess Family Estate farm, Glen Carlou.
Plenty of white pepper aromas here and on the palate, piquant blueberry flavours dominate with allspice and white pepper.
Over two nights we tried various food matches and the winner hands down was a traditional local sausage, made with coriander and allspice, boerewors.
