Rodney Strong Merlot 2007, Sonoma County, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Rodney Strong established Sonoma’s 13th bonded winery in 1959. The winery has been privately owned by the Klein family since 1989, and their passion for sustainable agriculture led to Rodney Strong becoming Sonoma County’s first carbon-neutral winery. The 2007 Merlot offers impressive structure and balance, with gentle tannins, crisp acidity and elegant fruit. Ideal for filet mignon. My note: A well-crafted and balanced Merlot with lovely plum and berry fruit. Medium- to full-bodied and smooth. Great smooth jazz wine or pair it with watching Eat, Pray, Love. Drink: 2011-2015. 497933 13.80% D 750 mL $19.95 Score: 89/100. July 9, 2011 Full Review
