Natalie's Review

Shafer Vineyards Merlot 2008, Napa Valley, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Definitely a full-blown blockbuster of a Merlot. Deep ruby in the glass, it shows plenty of blackberry, woodsmoke, tar, vanilla and graphite on the nose. Dry, medium-full bodied and mouth-filling, with a wallop of warm, dark fruit; a plush texture; and silky tannins. Long, layered finish. Cellar for 5+ years , or pair it with flavourful meat dishes. My note: Big juicy wine with ripe blackberries and black raspberries. Full-bodied and smooth with terrific cellar potential. Drink: 2011-2018. 346262 15.30% XD 750 mL  $54.95 Score: 91/100.
