Piccini Selezione Oro Riserva Chianti 2006, D.O.C.G., Tuscany, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: This wine was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2009 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Aromas of red licorice, cherry, dried herbs and spice. This wonderfully balanced and well-structured Sangiovese offers nicely integrated and supple tannins, sour cherry, vanilla, spice and dark fruit. Food-friendly and versatile. My note: Spicy cherries and licorice with a kick of ripe-tart red field berries. Terrific food wine for a wide range of dishes. Drink: 2011-2015. 212498 13% XD 750 mL $15.95 Score: 88/100.
