La Garde Des Lions Visan Les Coteaux Visan 2007, A.C., Côtes Du Rhône-Villages, Rhône, France: VC : Gold Medal winner at the 2008 Vinsobres Concours Interprofessionnel des Vins AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages. Aromas of berry, vanilla and spice abound here. The palate shows good fruit replays, with ripe plum, blackberry and raspberry prominent. Nice vanilla notes and a spicy mid palate leading to a concentrated finish. My note: Buy a case of this wine: it’s staggeringly great for the money! A river of dark cherry liqueur concentration runs through its heart wrapped in some woodsmoke and dark spices. This is liquid sensuality. Full-bodied and smooth with lovely long finish. Bring it on!
