You’ll find apple, pear, lemon, lime and a savory lingering minerality. Perfect for summer sipping. A great food pairing wine as it will pair with challenging ingredients (like grilled artichokes). It has a lot going on for a great price.
Hugo Markus Huber Grüner Veltliner 2008, Niederösterreich, Austria: Vintages Wine Panel: Even with its difficult-to-pronounce name, Grüner Veltliner (Groon-er VELT-lynn-er) has become the white wine of choice amongst the smart set in Ontario. Grüner is known for producing quite aromatic and fruity wine with a vibrant, crisp acidity and spicy undertone. Huber’s ‘Hugo’ was launched with the 2003 vintage as an opportunity for customers to experience the wonders of Grüner at a value price. My note: A green line of refreshment with a white pepper laser focus of grapefruit, green melon and lime. No oak. 641506 11.50% XD 750 mL $13.95 Score: 88/100. December 5, 2009 Full Review
