Tbilvino Alazanis Valley Red Saperavi Rkatsiteli 2007, Georgia: Vintages Wine Panel: Actually a blend of the red Saperavi and white Rkatsiteli grapes, this wine is a medium ruby colour in the glass. Interesting aromas of cherry pie filling, red currants and crushed raspberries lead the way. These are joined in the mouth by cranberry and pink grapefruit flavours. Medium in sweetness, the wine is nicely balanced by a seam of acidity that persists on the tasty finish. Enjoy this unique treat. Although this red has a touch of sweetness, it’s balanced beautifully by the ripe red berry fruit and spices. Lovely notes of blackberries and plums. 142109 12% M 750 mL $11.95 Score: 87/100.
