Natalie's Review

Macarico Rosso Del Vulcano Aglianico 2007, D.O.C., Aglianico Del Vulture, Basilicata, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: Grown on the slopes of the extinct volcano, Mount Vulture (pronounced “vool-TOO-reh”), this 100% Aglianico is a characteristically complex wine. Layered notes of pepper, spice, ripe plums and cherry abound with a lifting violet quality. The palate is dry, soft and fruity with a medium-long finish. My note: Love the floral lift in this wine. I’m flying with my senses over a field of violets and roses, dipping down occasionally for a closer smell. Savory and bacon-meaty on the palate. Delicious, trust me.
