A very Italian wine in that it's got some acidity, it's not too full-bodied, and it's more about cherry fruit and earthiness than it is about sweet, spicy oak. It has some soft tannins on the finish and a little liquorice to boot. This would make a good food wine, maybe with some tomato-based pasta to play up the acidity in the wine
