Rutherford Wine Company Chardonnay 2008, Napa Valley, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Rutherford Ranch is making some of the best value-for-money wines in Napa Valley. Once again, the 2008 puts the emphasis on pure fruit flavours with ripe pear, apple and tropical fruits balanced by zesty acidity on a medium full body. Pick it up along with its sibling, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (073817) for the best deal this side of Napa. My note: terrific buttery, green apple goodness that’s not overdone. This is a great style of classic Chardonnay. Full-bodied and richly layered. 136382 13.50% D 750 mL $19.95 Score: 90/100. November 7, 2009 Full Review
