Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay 2008, Monterey, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Lots of apple, tropical fruit, pear, coconut and vanilla aromas on display here. Dry, fruity, round and ripe. Crowd-pleasing Cali Chard with a core of ripe fruit and bright acidity for refreshment. Smooth-textured. My note: Superb! Buttery, along-rich chardonnay with layers of full-bodied goodness. Generous but not heavy. Perfect for lobster in butter and corn on the cob. My mouth is watering.
