Toasted Head Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, North Coast, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Toasted Head isn’t kidding. Besides the lovely raspberry, cherry and mint, there are also well-integrated slatherings of campfire smoke, tobacco and smoked meat aromas here too. Dry and fruity, but with an almost perfect touch of tannin bringing balance. It may be ripe and round at first, but the tannins suggest it will age 2-3 years easily. My note: Toasty good with fleshy blackcurrant and blackberries. Supple with full-bodied weight. A very dependable wine year after year. Drink: 2011-2015. 686824 13% D 750 mL $19.95 Score: 89/100.
