Simi Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Opaque ruby colour. This wine is so dark you could look at an eclipse through it. Wonderful aromas, including Black Forest cake, fresh sour cherry, mocha and smoke. Dry, elegant and harmonious with fine fruit, zippy acidity and firm, but very pleasant tannins. This full-bodied, long finishing wine is a great match for a hearty beef, rice and tomato dish. It’ll also evolve with 2-4 years in cellar. My note: This cabernet also has small amount of Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. A terrific red with delicious fruit but it’s not too big. Drink: 2011-2016. 25221 13.50% XD 750 mL $21.95 Score: 90/100. March 5, 2011 Full Review
