Nyarai Cellars Veritas Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, V.Q.A., Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Vintages Wine Panel: This ripe and expressive red exhibits plenty of cassis, plum, bramble, pipe tobacco and cocoa. Dry, medium bodied, and expertly crafted, with plenty of ageing potential (3-5 years) – but it’s drinking beautifully now. A phenomenal example of the great 2007 Ontario vintage. My note: This wine is a blend of 33% Cabernet Franc, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 13% Syrah. It leads with a mocha-cocoa-espresso nose. On the palate, there’s dark fruit and a very smooth texture. Medium- to full-bodied weight. Nicely put together with good balance. Drink: 2011-2015. 222794 13.90% XD 750 mL $24.95 Score: 88/100.
