Quintarelli Classico Superiore Valpolicella 2000, D.O.C., Veneto, Italy: Scansano is an important town in Southern Tuscany in the coastal hills of Maremma. Morellino is the local name for Sangiovese. This 80 hectare estate is dedicated to Morellino di Scansano and this flagship version blends in a little Syrah for added complexity and depth. It’s fermented in stainless steel which emphasizes the wine’s fresh red fruit and floral characteristics. Aged just four months in barrel, it’s ripe and zesty. 986117 15% XD 750 mL $89.95 Score: 91/100. September 12, 2009 Full Review
