Masi Riserva Chianti 2005, D.O.C.G., Tuscany, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: This Chianti Riserva is a blend of 93% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, and 2% Colorino. Ruffina ages it for 30 months in a combination of barrel and bottle. Canaiolo adds some acidity, while the Colorino (instead of the now-allowed Cabernet Sauvignon) is used by traditionalists who want to add tannic structure but keep the wine 'all Italian'. Try this with classic Tuscan dishes. My note: Dark chocolate and a river of black cherries. Full-bodied and supple. Terrific for Italian dishes, of course. 969469 13.50% XD 750 mL $15.95 Score: 86/100. August 15, 2009 Full Review
