Mont Tauch Vieilles Vignes Carignan Grenache Syrah 2006, A.C., FITOU, Midi, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Gold Medal winner at the 2008 Concours Général Agricole, in Paris. This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah opens with vivid ripe blackcurrant and cherry characteristics on the nose. Lots of sweet oak, dark fruit and chocolate make this a full, rich experience. Finishes with lively spice notes. My note: A simple wine with black fruit and mocha-dark chocolate notes. Full-bodied and satisfying. A great quaffer for a duffer. 127134 14% XD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 87/100. August 1, 2009 Full Review
