Château Côte Montpezat Vignobles Bessineau Merlot Blend 2003, A.C., Côtes de Castillon, Bordeaux, France: An expressive wine with rich, brooding notes of blackberries and cassis. The grapes for this wine are grown just east of St. Emilion in clay and limestone soil. There’s 70% Merlot in this blend which lends a lovely plushness of fruit and texture to this wine. The grapes were hand-picked and the wine spent 12 months in oak barrels. Great for dinner parties involving meat. 45658 14% XD 750 mL $21.95 Score: 89/100. August 19, 2008 Full Review
