Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
Strong aromas jump out of the glass, with jammy fruit, prunes, cedar, and a hint of alcohol coming through. Similar flavours on the palate, with a voluptuous mouthfeel. Full bodied, and medium to high acidity, this shiraz fares well, though it is not as well developed as many of its Australian counterparts.
Drink Wine and Giggle Gals rated this wine as
87/100 with the following review:
The Drink Wine and Giggle Gals could not believe Fat Bastard is a French wine, thinking mistakenly that it was an American creation inspired by Skinny Bitch. In a sense Fat Bastard is an American creation because America is responsible for the wine's success. Business Week called Fat Bastard a marketing phenomenon, a deliberately accessible French wine that is more Monty Python than Cotes du Rhone. The Drink Wine and Giggle Gals just call it phat...(but this is a wine packaged as an insult that we would not dare to gift).
Darlene Myers rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
This is a fun, and easy Shiraz to drink. It's one of best friend's favorite, so I have it quite frequently. I like it by itself and it goes quite well with food, especially meats. I always smell a wine before I drink it. I get great pleasure from the aromas of a wine. The nose and the palate matched. Blackberry, licorice and and vanilla is what stands out for me. It's good value - here in Nova Scotia it sells for $15.99 so its a nice Shiraz for good value. Enjoy
