Estate Grown Chardonnay 2007, Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia: Vintages Wine Panel: This crowd-pleasing Australian Chard is robust but not overblown. It’s matured in 100% new oak, giving it a hefty portion of toasty, buttery character while it retains ample finesse. Look for green apple and tropical fruit flavors to complement the oaky notes. This wonder from down under will stand up to a feast. My note: A terrific Chardonnay for the money! Layers of buttery goodness, with ripe pears and peaches. Absolutely yum. Full-bodied with a warm finish. 651331 13% D 750 mL $15.95 Score: 89/100. July 4, 2009 Full Review
