Natalie's Review

Hugel Hugel Gentil 2006, A.C., Alsace, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Hugel’s Gentil is what is known as a field blend. In the past, some vineyards were planted to a variety of different vines. To make life easier, the grower would pick all the fruit together and make it into a wine. The blend is usually a secret but, since this is Alsace, the likes of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner and Pinot Blanc would be a good guess. My note: A classic, refreshing white with lovely notes of lime, Asian pear, white peach and grapefruit. Perfect as an aperitif or an accompaniment to many dishes. 367284 12% MD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 90/100. April 11, 2009  Full Review
