Creekside Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, V.Q.A. St. David's Bench, Niagara, Ontario, Canada: Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon havested from two vineyards in St. David's Bench appellation. The grapes udnerwent a small batch fermentation with twice daily manual punch-down of the caps. The wine was then aged in both French and American oak barrels (new and older wood) over a period of 30 months. A mocha rich red wine with dark fruit on the nose. Good grip on the palate with notes of vanilla, smoke and cassis. Full-bodied. Decant for 1-2 hours. Available at the winery. Drink: 2009-2014. 12% 750 mL $34.95 Score: 89/100.
