Hillebrand Winery Clark Farm Pinot Noir 2007, V.Q.A. Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: The winemaker, Darryl Brooter, was conscious of the challenge in a hot vintage to pick the grapes with good natural acidity and maintain varietal character. After hand picking in the early morning of September 21, 2007 the grapes were hand sorted for a further 9 hours before being gently crushed. Enticing aromas of beetroot, fresh earth and pleasantly tart cherries. Not fruit forward but absolutely delicious. Great balance, structure and length. Available at Hillebrand Winery.
