Vasse Felix Shiraz, Australia: Vintages Wine Panel: Vasse Felix helped put Western Australia’s Margaret River on the wine world map. It was the first winery built in Margaret River and the estate lays claim to the first vineyard planted in the region. This richly fruited Shiraz boasts intense blackberry, spice, polished oak and meaty notes. Dry, medium full-bodied and rich, it would be an exquisite match for venison. My note: Hugely extracted with black plums, currants and cassis. Full-bodied and plush with a long, warm finish.  686550  14%  D  750 mL  $39.95  Score: 90/100. February 28, 2009  Full Review
