Natalie's Review

Pierre Sparr Réserve Pinot Noir 2007, AC Alsace, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Most wine lovers are familiar with the classic white wines of Alsace, but this cool, dry and sunny region also makes elegant Pinot Noir like this one from well-known producer Pierre Sparr. Dry and medium-bodied, it features lovely soft red fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry, with some earth and light spice notes. Crisp acidity and light tannins. My note: Smooth layers of raspberries, smoky black cherries and pomegranate up front, with a thread underneath. Satin texture slips quickly past as you savor a finish that’s tinged with longing. 38992 12% XD 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 88/100. February 14, 2009  Full Review
