Chateau Ferran Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005, A.C. Pessac-Leognan, France: The 2005 vintage was remarkable for Bordeaux and as a result we can buy terrific wines from the less-known estates at reasonable prices (for Bordeaux). The nose opens with classic notes of cassis, blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate yields cigar box, pencil led, violets and smoky leather. There’s oak here but not too much and it’s so beautifully integrated. A long, lovely finish. 98400 12% XD 750 mL $32.95 Score: 90/100. January 31, 2009 Full Review
