Canepa Reserva Privada Reserva Privada Carmenère 2006, Rapel Valley, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: This is Chilean Carmenère in all its glory. Ripe cherry, plum, black pepper, licorice and menthol notes are wrapped in smooth tannins, culminating in a long finish. A medium- to full-bodied beauty. My note: Delivers smoky dark notes of mocha, coffee, black fruit and earth on the nose. It’s quite robust and rustic but delicious, so decant for two hours before drinking. 82586 14% D 750 mL $13.95 Score: 87/100. January 31, 2009 Full Review
