Natalie's Review

Leone De Castris Salice Salentino Rosso Riserva Negroamaro Malvasia Nera 2004, Puglia, Italy: Why are Italian wines so popular? This southern Italian red has all the muscle of sun-ripened fruit with the balancing acidity from wine's style: perfect for Mafioso weddings and pizza nights. A blend of 90% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera grapes. Plenty of black raspberries here along with some notes of opulently textured cherries and spiced vanilla. Robust and layered with a nice finish. 597534 13.50% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 90/100. January 10, 2009  Full Review
