Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Cassis and purple fruit at the core with the brooding briars lifting slightly since my last bottle, consumed in 2009. This has withstood the extra year in bottle magnificently, I think better, allowing the fruits to meld (and dissipate a little) and the acid to become more prominent. Blueberry/iron coming through better, with touch of lavender that almost perfumes the fruit on the mid-palate, as well as a hint of sandalwood on the finish. Sweet tannins. The wine needed this long to calm down, but could have gone another year. Unfined, unfiltered, still a steal for the price. Score, 89+. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Wine Guy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

purply beet red in colour this wine has big aromas of fruit including black cherries and raspberries, loads of fruity body, be sure to decant this wine as it is loaded with sediment

Pillar Box Red 2006, Padthaway, Australia: As this wine is unfined and unfiltered, decant it for 1-2 hours. This is a blend of 50% Shiraz, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot. The wine was aged in both French and American oak. Aromas of gloriously ripe purple plums, fleshy black fruits and some spicy oak on the finish. Full-bodied and smooth-textured.  685941  15%  XD  750 mL  $17.95  Score: 92/100. January 10, 2009  Full Review
