Natalie's Review

Shafer Red Should Ranch Chardonnay 2005, Napa Valley, California, United States: Carneros is Napa's most southerly American Vintercultural area close to San Pablo Bay. This region has more of a cool climate due to the proximity of the Pacific Ocean. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir do extremely well here. Barrel fermentation, aging and the use of Malo-lactic fermentation. A gorgeously rich Chardonnay with layers of vanilla, butter, ripe pears and apples. Wrapped in a smokey blanket. A long, satisfying finish. 45583 14% D 750 mL  $58.95 Score: 93/100.
