Tinhorn Creek Vineyards Merlot 2006, British Columbia, Canada: Similar to previous vintages the Merlot grapes were crushed and fermented in separate lots. After fermentation the wine was then placed in American oak barrels and allowed to age for approximately one year. A combination of new to four year old barrels were used for aging. After oak aging the wine was put into stainless steel tanks where the different lots were allowed to blend together before being bottled in May of 2008. A juicy, generous, supple Merlot with full-bodied notes of raspberries, mocha and vanilla spice. Closed with a screwcap. Drink: 2008-2014. 530725 14% D 750 mL $18.99 Score: 88/100.
