Herdade Do Perdigao Vinha Do Almo Tempranillo Blend 2005, Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal: Vintages Wine Panel: Almo is the Portuguese version of the Latin word, Almus, which means ‘bountiful’. This wine definitely lives up to its name. Made with Trincadeira, Aragónez (a.k.a. Tempranillo) and Carignan, Vinha do Almo displays upfront aromas of blackberry, plum and oak spice (from 9 months in American and French oak). This smooth, harmonious wine has a robust structure and a persistent finish. My note: A simple, full-bodied red with red fruit notes. Heat on the back palate. 81752 14% XD 750 mL $18.95 Score: 88/100. July 7, 2008 Full Review
