Natalie's Review

Peller Estates Private Reserve Gamay Noir 2006, Niagara, Ontario, Canada: This is the first year they have made this wine from a single vineyard. With extended skin contact at the end of the fermentation and nine months in an equal split of American and French oak barrels. This wine won them the silver medal of the 2008 Riesling du Monde competition. This is a juicy, generous red with notes of luscious, ripe red cherries and raspberries, with a warm smoky overlay of oak. A supple, smooth and medium-bodied red. 1027299 13% D 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 87/100. April 22, 2008  Full Review
