Priya: Ah I know that smell! Come to mama darling. Pinot grigio was my go-to wine before I met Alex and he opened up my world. This is a bit of a hit on the wallet however…
Alex: Wow Priya, can I get a word in or what? Plenty of white peach, pear, lemon zest, flowers and intense stony minerality here, full body, quite a bit of flavor concentration here – near bone dry.
Priya: Yes, clean and crisp with only a hint of the sweetness I’m used to in my pinot grigio. Not sure I’d pay $35 for it but I’d definitely have seconds if I were served this at a party!
Alex: Fairly powerful finish here, quite long as well. A real good pinot grigio no doubt, and a clear step-up in quality. However, from a $35 white I expect extraordinary, and this is just quite good. I’ll pass, only because this should be sold for under $25.
Martha Kelly AIWS rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
From 100% Pinot Grigio grapes this crisp wine surprises with flavours of ripe peach, lemon, minerality, and tree fruit all balanced with medium body and zesty acidity. It has long length on the fruit-driven finish.
Enjoy on its own or pair with loaded salads, creamy seafood dishes, pad Thai or butter chicken - quite versatile.
Drink now or keep through 2015.
Date tasted: November 2014.

A whopping $34.95 for Pinot Grigio? We all think PG is t go-to wine for the reverse wine snob. Partly true. However, this is a beautiful Pinot Grigio and I wouldn't be embarrassed to order it in a restaurant. A medium lemon colour in the glass with intense aromas of citrus, tree fruit, stone fruit, honey, rose, stony minerality, sweet spices The palate is smooth and velvety with a lengthy finish. I detected a hint of effervescence. Acidity is refreshing and balanced. Seafood , shellfish, creamy pastas. Serve well chilled.

Jermann Pinot Grigio 2013, Venezia Giulia, Friuli I.G.T., Italy: This is one of the best, if not the best, Italian Pinot Grigios I've tasted. Sure, the price reflects that but it's worth seeing how vibrant and full of character Pinot Grigio can be with this benchmark wine. Zesty, refreshing and alive in the glass. Aromas of white peach, lime and white grapefruit. Incredibly refreshing and mouth-watering. Great as an aperitif or with many dishes, from seafood to salad. Great structure and finish. Says winemaker Silvio Jermann: "Wines should move us, prompt our emotions and have a sense of authenticity." Amen. Drink: 2013-2016. 117093 12.50% XD 750 mL $37.95 Score: 93/100.
