Jane LeFresne reviewed this wine as follows:
With the first smell of this wine you get the traditional aromas of chardonnay. Buttery, brioche followed by hints of lemon and a slight vanilla.
Flavours of green apple, lemon, biscuit. Good, crisp acidity. It would pair nicely with a pasta and white cream sauce or your holiday turkey.

Rich aromas of vanilla and caramel, lemon and apple. Hints of cedar and smoke. Lemon, apple and caramel also come through on the palate. Longer finish. Would be great with a roast chicken or seafood. 89+

This full-bodied white has flavours of ripe peach apple, vanilla and toast with a long buttery finish as the acidity refreshes.
Pair with seafood or chicken.
Drink now or cellar until 2018.
Date tasted: November 2014.

90/100 with the following review:
Lovely oakiness is well integrated into this balanced chardonnay with medium acidity and notes of green apple and lemon/lime. If you like the oaky flavour this one would be a good pairing with bbq chicken and roasted fennel bulb.
Tom Vigeant rated this wine as
89/100 with the following review:
Apple, minerality and a bit of oak and citrus on the nose. Lively acidity, medium body, fruit only shyly comes through. Needs a couple of years to bring acidity in check if you are drinking on its own, or pair with roasted chicken, grilled fish, summer salads.
Astrid Young rated this wine as
85/100 with the following review:
New French oak jumps right out of the glass, with a smokiness attributable to a fairly heavy toast. Savory, flinty and with warm fireplace aromas, lightly citrus on the palate with some grilled tropical fruit (pineapple) quite prominent. acidity seems disjointed on the finish, lacks a certina elegance at the moment but will likely reward a bit of cellaring. would be excellent with a Hawaiian style pizza with smoked ham and pineapple; also great with a nice holiday ham or any smoked fish.

Light on the nose. Clean and smooth finish. Would pair well with poultry.

Wolf Blass Gold Label Chardonnay 2013, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia: A rich, round Australian Chardonnay with lovely aromas of green apple, almond and light spices. Terrific finish. The palate is mouth-filling and expansive, yet balanced. Finishes with attractive orchard fruit and some smoke. Full-bodied goodness is perfect for grilled chicken. Drink: 2014-2018. 399543 13% D 750 mL $24.95 Score: 91/100. September 2, 2014 Terrific Turkey Wine Full Review
