Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A medium garnet Amarone with complex aromas of strawberry and cherry preserves, raisins, dried herbs, a touch of baking spices, and new leather. The taste is cherry jam and plum, and there's a smooth, silky mouth-feel. The tannins are very round and well integrated.

I paired this with a rosemary and garlic French pork roast to great effect.
Heather Wall rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Bring on your finer cuts of red meat because it's Amarone time! This elixir is inky and brooding ruby in the glass with great slow legs. Concentrated aromas and flavours of black cherry, blackberry, violets, fig, vanilla, toast, raisin, prune, wet wool, leather, earth, basil, and warm spices to name but a few. A whopping 15% abv but I don't taste heat. Fresh acidity and some evident tannins round out the mouthfeel. Drinking nicely now but this definitely has ageing potential. I'd love to try in 5 years then 10.

Monte del Frá Lena Di Mezzo Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2009, Veneto D.O.C.G., Italy: Full-bodied and remarkable lively for such a towering, well-structured red wine. It offers seductive aromas of dark spices, black fleshy cherry and mouth-watering juiciness. Balanced, deep, concentrated and long. Just the way you want the perfect evening to go.
