This medium-bodied, berry-forward wine is complex and layered with a smooth finish. Playing with aromas like cedar, plum, chocolate and sour cherry, this is definitely one of those wines to be savoured. Pull out your decanter for this one - the more it airs, the better it is. Pair it with full-flavoured foods such as sausage, game, Serrano ham and grilled meats.
Marques De Riscal Reserva 2009, Rioja D.O.C., Spain: Lots of acidity in this robust Spanish red wine with black fruit, tar and a pleasantly bitter finish. One of the better-known producers of Rioja on a large scale. Pair with roast beef. Drink: 2013-2017. 32656 14% XD 750 mL $25.95 Score: 87/100. August 3, 2014 Best Beef Wine Full Review
