This is a classic delivery of a well made Italian wine using the infamous Sangiovese grape, showcasing great personality of a dry full bodied spicy wine.
On the nose there are red cherries, black berries, red currants and black currants. Herbal notes of anise and notes of straw.
On the palate, ripe cherries, black berries, plums and cranberries merge together before the presence of cedar comes forward. Herbal notes of thyme are introduced and then licorice, ending with spice of black pepper . Good length tannins. I give this a 93
