This wine has a deep ruby colour and lots of legs on the glass. There is some strong new oak on the nose along with some tart red fruit and a bit of peppery spice. The tartness of fruit shows up on the palate as well as the oak. Very full bodied with a medium to long finish. The tannins are young but mellow out after decanting. A great BBQ wine!
La Posta Angel Paulucci Vineyard Malbec 2011, Ugarteche, Mendoza, Argentina: Loaded with toasty oak and black, tarry fruit. Mocha and coffee on the nose of this full-bodied red wine, followed by black plums on the palate and a tannic grip. Decant 1-2 hours. Try it with hamburgers.
