A great value old vine Chenin Blanc! Floral, vanilla, tropical fruit, oak - clean and well presented with a uniqueness all its own. Great anytime on its own or with grilled chicken atop Summer greens from the garden.

I found this muted at first nosing, with an austere minerality and unripe green grapes - but after a bit of time it really opened up. (Perhaps initially served a tad cold.)

Honey, chamomile, white flowers, orange peel, light caramel.

Crisp lemon & lime on the palate, only slightly creamy, with hints of marzipan, almond.

Medium finish, the acid is perfectly balanced.

Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc 2012, Stellenbosch W.O., South Africa: Clean and fresh like an early spring breeze. Mouth-watering, medium-bodied and crisp. Terrific white peach and floral notes. I continue to be impressed with South African Chenin blanc: it's a lovely change from other whites. Great for after an evening dip in the pool.
