rated this wine as 89/100
with the following review:
Medium bodied with juicy acidity and soft tannins, this wine has flavours of raspberry, dark cherry, baking spices, and savoury game. The flavours linger on the refreshing finish.
Enjoy today, or cellar until 2016.
Pair with slow roasted chicken, Greek salad, and tender beef.
Date tasted: April 2014.
Batasiolo Sabri Barbera D'asti 2011, D.O.C.G., Italy: New World power fruit, Old World trimming along the edges. Black and purple plums lead out of the gate, galloping up behind and quickly overtaking them is tarry toasty oak, pencil led and smoke. Whoosh. That's the sound of your senses wondering what hit them. Great price. Drink: 2014-2017. 366989 14.50% XD 750 mL $15.95 Score: 89/100. April 26, 2014 Best Value Red Wine.
