A fresh and lively wine with nuances of honeydew melon and smoky minerality. Medium bodied, dry, unoaked, a perfect match for grilled halibut. Enjoy through 2015. Tasted April 2014.
Dürnberg Rabenstein Grüner Veltliner 2011, Weinviertel D.A.C., Austria: Clean, crisp green flavours of lime and chives. Great mouth-watering acidity for food. The chalky soil in the vineyards with up to 50-year-old vines lends deep minerality to the wine which is aged on its yeast (sur lie) in 1,000 litre oak barrels which doesn't give any detectable oak aromas or flavours. Drink: 2013-2015. 366906 13% XD 750 mL $24.95 Score: 88/100. April 26, 2014 Venerated Vegetarian Wine Full Review
