Keith Robinson reviewed this wine as follows:

2012 Domaine Montrose Rose

Price: $15

Availability: Richmond Hill

Assessed by: Keith Robinson

Tasted: April 2014

Product Details: South of France Côtes de Thongue  IGP. 65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah

Canadians are breaking free of the old Rose stereotypes of sweet icky White Zinfandel and realizing the lovely charms of dry, fresh Rose. Five years ago I couldn't sell a bottle of Rose in Calgary to save my life; today, even the toughest big red boys are enjoying the elegant drinkability of lovely Rose on a warm day by the barbeque. Manly men drink pink.

Domaine Montrose is located in the south of France, minutes from the Mediterranean. Not to be confused with Chateau Montrose of Bordeaux. Domaine Montrose is distinguished by the three lizard crest, originally granted to the domain by the king of France in 1701.

The tasting: Light pink with hints of copper on the eye. Delicate, lovely perfume. On the palate, very gluggable. Fresh and delicate. Not for the cellar. Drink. Now.

Music Pairing: Soundtrack to Breathless by Jean Luc Goddard

Book to read with: A Year In Provence, Peter Mayle

When to drink: With sun. On the patio. Or when you desperately want sun together with big bowl of fish stew.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
