This is a luscious, mouth coating wine. Inky purple colour coat the glass. The nose shows notes of black pepper, black fruit, sous-bois and a hint of lavender. The acidity is brilliant and the tannins are soft. I repeat, luscious!
Zuccardi Serie A Bonarda 2011, Santa Rosa, Mendoza, Argentina: The Bonarda grape may be lesser known than Malbec in Argentina, but it produces terrific full-bodied red wines for the money. Blackberry, toasty oak and dark chocolate fill out the nose here. Zuccardi is a leading producer in Argentina. Drink: 2014-2016. 355560 14% XD 750 mL $15.95 Score: 88/100.
