Ripe raspberry and blackberry up front with black pepper, smokiness, and a touch of mint and sour cherry. There's a slightly 'gamey' note to it, although not unpleasant. The taste is blackberry and spice, and is quite dry. It's perhaps a touch hot and could use a touch less alcohol.
Château Trillol Famille Sichel Grenache Syrah 2008, Corbières, Midi, France: Loaded with black pepper and dark spices on the nose. This is a terrific, full-bodied red wine for the money. Great palate whacker. The blend is 60% grenache grapes and 40% syrah. This is an AC wine. Drink: 2014-2018. 354126 14% XD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 88/100. January 18, 2014 Best Beef Wine Full Review
