Freixenet Carta Nevada Brut Cava

This wine shows the palest lemon in the glass, with pale green glimmers throughout. On the nose, it's a delicious blend of lemon with grapefruit notes and acacia.

Its creamy, dreamy, persistent mousse gives citrus, acacia, and sourdough on the palate with a grapefruit note. Aged for 9 months, its high acidity, and good balance combine with 11.5% a.b.v. and 9 g/l residual sugar to make a brilliant, dry sipper.

In the 1870s, the phylloxera outbreak in Penedès saw a sea change.

Vineyards switched from red grapes over to the white traditional grapes for cava: Macabeu, Parellada, and Xarello.

Casa Sala, Dolores Sala Vivé, a Catalan heiress, marries Pedro Ferrer Bosch, the youngest son in the Ferrer de la Freixeneda family.

His nickname was "el Freixenet'.

A value-priced gem, this traditional method bubbly is a Cava which shines amidst its peers. Crisp, dry, stone fruit, brioche, granny smith apple. Pairs well with most appetizers and mains. Easily enjoyable on it's own as well. Such great value that I'll mention it again. Tasted August 2017. 89 points.

Pretty aromas of pineapple, apple, per, green melon, and biscuit. The taste is similar to the aroma, with high, bright acidity, and a little of the lemon showing through more. Incredible value.

Widely available at virtually all LCBO stores, this is a terrific value priced Cava (sparkling wine from Spain) that can be enjoyed with a wide array of dishes or own its own.
On the nose and palate, citrus, apple, baked bread, with refreshing acidity and lively little bubbles.
An exceptional value priced Cava to have on hand for any celebration, especially over the Holidays.
