If......just if....you happen to stumble upon this bottle of wine and the price tag doesn't faze you......buy it!
The bottle itself sports such a pretty label that I didn't want to open it, I wanted to keep it displayed beautifuly in my wine cellar...okay so it's a fridge!!!
This was one of my bottles that I bought recently at the mini salon and simply didn't want to open it but what a wondrous way to celebrate the end of a week, let's pop the cork of this pretty bottle!
The pretty bottle did not dissapoint! I decanted this wine for two hours before I drank it...wow and yum!
On the nose this wine shows light acidity and is filled with pungent red fruits. Rich in colour, dark and intense but not sludgy. On the palate it is intense and powerful but not head strong, it is still classy and in control. There are black plump cherries which lead gently into plums and then dried fruits. As the flavours grab the attention of your taste buds it opens up into a mocha, chocolate explosion. The wine rounds off with a leather, mild spice. Dry delicious tannins that are not too long, yet enough to satisfy.

Bottoms up!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
