Blending Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre is always a good idea, and this is no different. I love the structure of a GSM, and the aromatics on this wine jumped out of the glass. Nutmeg, spice and raspberry on the nose and on the palate with good tannins and a lush finish. Put this with roast beef and its a match made in heaven.
Penfolds Bin 138 Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2011, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: A structured and balanced blend of dark fruit, smoke and a touch of spice on the finish. Elegant and full-bodied, but not heavy. Some dark spice on the finish. Highly recommended. Drink: 2013-2016. 468637 14% D 750 mL $34.95 Score: 92/100. December 7, 2013 Top Rated Red Wine.
