This Chianti Classico wine is produced by the thousand year old winery, Canonia a Cerreto, located 12 km from the pretty city of Siena in Tuscany. This wine is composed of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot.
This medium-bodied red has aromas of raspberry jam and some earthy tones. On the palate, this wine delivers notes of cherry and the tannins and acidity are well balanced. This very pleasant ready to drink wine has a medium length finish.
Pairing suggestion: spaghetti with meat sauce
Canonica A Cerreto Chianti Classico Riserva 2008, D.O.C.G., Tuscany, Italy: An earthy, full-bodied wine with smoky dark red fruit and good, mouth-watering acidity. Best consumed with hearty dishes involving tomato sauce. Mixed spices and black raspberry on the finish. A wine to satisfy a savage thirst (for good wine). Drink: 2012-2016. 275867 14% XD 750 mL $21.95 Score: 91/100. November 9, 2013 Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine Full Review
